Live data sources

Our UK Situation Room aggregates official and authoritative sources. Where a source cannot yet be connected under licence, demonstration data is clearly labelled.

Connected (live)

Five real sources are connected with provenance and timestamps: Environment Agency flood-monitoring (England), the Met Office National Severe Weather Warning Service (NSWWS), National Highways road/lane closures (DATEX II), the NCSC cyber advisories feed, and the GOV.UK news & communications feed. The Local page also shows a live Met Office forecast for your postcode.

Interface-ready

NESO/electricity networks, water companies, National Rail, UKHSA/NHS and UK Emergency Alerts are integrated as modular sources and shown with DEMO DATA until a licensed feed is enabled from the admin panel.

Failure handling

If a live source fails we display 'Live source temporarily unavailable' with the last successful update and a link to the official source — never stale information presented as current.

Information on this site supports, but does not replace, instructions from emergency services or government authorities.
