Privacy matters — especially for emergency-planning information. UK Ready is built to work with as little of your data as possible.
Your plan stays on your device
Your household plan, emergency kit, saved area, readiness answers, chosen language and low-data preference are stored in your browser on your device — not on our servers. We cannot see them.
Postcodes
We do not retain your postcode. If you use the 'find near you' or 'save my area' features, your postcode and its rough coordinates are stored locally on your device and are only sent to our server momentarily to look up the location and nearby services.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your choices. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What we may collect
If you email us, we process the details you send in order to reply. We use privacy-conscious, aggregated analytics (for example which guides are viewed and which searches return nothing) to improve the information — not to identify you.
Your choices
You can clear your saved data at any time by removing your saved area, resetting your plan, or clearing your browser storage. 'Watch my area' notifications only work while the site is open and can be turned off in the app or in your browser settings.
Your rights
Because we hold little or no personal data about you, there is usually nothing to request. If you have contacted us, you can ask us to access or delete that correspondence.
